As a mom of four kids ranging from nine to eighteen years of age, putting a meal on the table that pleases everyone can be a real challenge. Between myself, my husband and the kids, that’s six palates to please. Not wanting to be a short order cook, I look for recipes that are simple to make and pleasing to everyone. And I’ve found that macaroni and cheese is the great dinnertime equalizer. Everyone likes macaroni and cheese. A versatile dish that can be customized to any taste, macaroni and cheese allows me to feed the kids a dish that

GET THE RECIPE

When I was young and still in need of a babysitter when Mom and Dad would go out for a night on the town, my sister and I could choose what we wanted for dinner. I’m sure you can guess what menu item was tops on our list: macaroni & cheese, of course. Our other kid-friendly favorite was creamy Chicken Broccoli Casserole, the perfect vehicle to get my little sister, the broccoli- averse eater, to partake of the tender green crowns, thanks to being draped in cheesy sauce. Combining my two childhood favorites is pretty much a no-brainer and is

GET THE RECIPE

Gruyere Philly Cheesesteak Mac and Cheese. I know that’s a mouthful. But there are three very good things listed in that title: Wisconsin Gruyere – about the best cheese on the planet if you ask me Philly Cheesesteak – there’s a reason they are so well known Mac and Cheese – the ultimate in comfort food. The ULTIMATE. So why not make the best of all three? I did just that in this recipe developed for the 30 days, 30 ways with Macaroni & Cheese blog. Obviously – Wisconsin Gruyere was the show stopper, but Parmesan and Cheddar added a

GET THE RECIPE

Few things more satisfying than enjoying a BLT sandwich slathered with mayonnaise and piled high with fresh tomatoes and crispy bacon. It’s one of my favorite sandwiches, and I tend to reserve it for ordering at a restaurant when I’m out to lunch with friends or my husband. One of my favorite renditions of the classic sandwich is served at a small restaurant in Manhattan. It’s loaded with fresh arugula, thick, pepper-crusted bacon and a whole grain mustard aioli that is out of this world. Using that as inspiration, I used the same ingredients to pay homage to one of

GET THE RECIPE
